Center for Software Defined Radio
Initiated July 2006 and hosted at Aalborg University, CSDR is the national hub for research, development, education and dissemination in the domain of Software Defined Radio. Scientifically, CSDR is rooted in internationally recognized research, teaching, and tech transfer environments at Department for Electronic Systems, Aalborg University, The IT Section, Engineering College Copenhagen, and Danish Technological Institute, Århus.
The objectives of CSDR
Being funded as a Regional Technology Centre, CSDR's main objective is to bridge the gap between research environments and industrial sites, in particular Danish SMEs’ potential for adopting new technologies, methods, and processes as related to SDR. A major suite of mechanisms are applicable for establishing cooperation between the research labs and industry, including short and long term development projects, workbased learning, as well as traditional activities such as courses, seminars, workshops, and web hosted info and discussion sites. In addition, CSDR also hosts activities for commercialization and IPR identification.
Scientific Domains
The scientific focus of CSDR includes, among others, items such as Reconfigurable platforms in terms of FPGA/DSP-engines, Methodologies for HW/SW codesign and synthesis, RF-frontend/baseband codesign, Algorithmic/Architectural optimization techniques, and System perspectives for multi-protocol wireless design.
